What to do if you've been in an accident in Mexico.

If you've been in an accident
- 1
Stay Put
Don't leave the scene and don't move the vehicle. Mexican law expects you to stay until the adjuster arrives.
- 2
Call the Claim Number
Use the number on your policy. Have your policy number, the names and addresses of everyone involved, and your vehicle information ready.
- 3
Wait for the Adjuster
The adjuster handles the scene. Keep your driver's license and insurance certificate ready to present.
All claims must be reported before departing Mexico to avoid potential denial.

If your vehicle has been stolen
Report it to the insurer immediately and before leaving Mexico. Keep your policy information handy. Expect the insurer to coordinate the police report with you — don't go to the police on your own first.

- ×Don't move the vehicle without insurer approval
- ×Don't drive across the border before reporting
